WVU Basketball comes from 19 points down to take care of the Longhorns in Austin, WVU Baseball splits their opening series with Georgia State, Bluff the Fluffs, and a new Can't Believe My 'Eers!

Segment 1: Basketball

WVU vs Texas, Win, 84-82

  • Huggs alluded to TV dictating pushing this game forward even though Texas was dealing with tons of weather related issues.
  • Twice this season WVU has come back from down 19 points! Has that ever happened?
  • WVU has been down by at least 10 points and come back and won 5 times this season
  • Game in Austin. UT generates its own power.
  • UT hadn't practiced since Sunday.
  • Fran and Boog are great... can't we get them every game!!?!??!
  • Huggs making the ref laugh on TV was great... Not sure who he was yelling at but ref though he was funny.
  • Everyone agreed that the piped in crowd noise was horrendous.
  • Texas is HOT early on both sides..
  • There was a moment that Seny and Taj were in at the same time... WEIRD.
  • No Sean McNeil. 2 early fouls.
  • Matthews fell hard on left shoulder.
  • WVU down 53-43 at the half... Wow... gave up 50+ in the 1st
    • Texas has only missed 9 of its 30 shot attempts in the first half...
  • Texas players are fighting against each other Jones and Ramey.
  • Not a typical game from Deuce. Seemed to force things unnecessarily.
  • Fran gave a shout out to the Polar Bears.
  • 5 players in double digits... Culver, Matthews, McBride, McNeil, and Sherman.
  • Apparently Jones called game on his last shot, convincing everyone that it would be a miss.
  • Coach Huggs said in the post game the reason they won, was because then didn't want to get yelled at like they did at Half time.
  • Jericho Sims plays like every string bean Texas has rolled out over the last 5 years. Good for a lob alley oop once or twice a game and that’s about it.
  • Does anyone like this Brock Cunninham Kid...?
  • Matt Coleman acts like making a layup is worthy of a primal scream.
  • Taz Sherman with the smartest play of the game for drawing the 5th foul on Ramey.
  • Huggs collects win number 896.

WVU Baseball:

  • WVU splits their opening series with Georgia State 2-2 as the #14 ranked WVU starts their 2021 season.
    • Won the last game of the series with Georgia State. Got crushed 20-4 in game 3. Gave up 11 runs in the first inning.
    • Friday w 5-3 in 10 Innings.
    • Sat Gm1 - Loss (walkoff) win for GS 6-7.
    • Sat Gm2 - Loss 20-4 Jake Carr gave up 10 earned runs on 10 hits before getting yanked with 2 outs in the 1st.
    • Sun - w 3-2
  • Matt McCormick Catcher had 2 Home runs during the weekend series. He is hitting .308 after this weekend.
  • This weekend they travel to Conway SC fo play in a little tourney with Kennesaw State, Bryant (Bulldogs) and Coastal Carolina.. including a game vs CC on Saturday at 4pm on ESPN+.
