Basketball
- Erik Stevenson apologizes for his actions at Oklahoma State
- WVU loses to Kansas, 76-62
- Erik Stevenson changed his jersey number at one point in this game after ripping his original jersey in frustration
- The 14,132 in attendance for the Gold Rush game was the largest attendance since 02/12/20
- Huggs asks people not to give up on them
- Jose Perez has his appeal for a transfer waiver denied by the NCAA
- WVU loses to Baylor, 83-78
- Jalen Bridges returned to the Coliseum for the first time since transferring to Baylor
- Huggs: “we didn’t make open shots”
- People where even angry about the Coliseum’s music selections
- WVU parts ways with Associate Head Coach Larry Harrison
- Huggs says the parting of ways was “in the best interest of Mountaineer basketball” and that he wouldn’t be taking any further questions on the subject
- Says on his radio show that he wasn’t as involved in the dismissal as he’s being portrayed
- This feels like a stretch to explain it away as Wren Baker’s first big act as WVU AD…
- Huggs apparently made a comment after the Kansas State loss about letting some staff hang on for too long(?), perhaps this is what he was talking about (?)
- WVU loses on the road at Oklahoma, 77-76
- Two technical fouls issued to WVU in this game, one on Huggs and one on the bench
- Joe Touissant checked in at the 11:22 mark of the 2nd half after leading WVU in scoring in the first half
- At one point WVU’s lineup was: Touissant, Josiah Davis, Kobe Johnson, Suemnick, and Bell
- Wren Baker made the trip and sat directly behind Huggs this game
- OU didn’t score a fg in the final 6:14
- Huggs postgame (generally positive):
- He commented that Erik’s last shot was forced. Would’ve rather saw him “penetrate and pitch it”.
- The guys competed their tails off and did a better job of taking care of the ball
- Commented that they were heading back to the hotel because their plane was broken down
- Josh Whitt captured it correctly with this single clip (of handing a rebound back to OU late)
- As well as this very good general summation
- Anderson / Casazza pointed out that in the conference losses excluding Kansas, in the last 5 minutes of regulation and overtime WVU is 17-34 from the free-throw line
- 56 missed free throws in 5 Big 12 games. Most in D1.
- WVU now sits at 0-5 in conference play, 12 straight conference road losses, and haven’t won a conference road game in 690 days
- WVU vs Auburn on 01/28 is officially sold out
- Just a reminder that WVU Football and Basketball has apparently never had back to back losing seasons in both sports

- Montre Miller transferring in from Kent State
- Doug Nester announces he’s returning for next season
- Fatorma Mulbah, DL, is transferring in from Penn State
